Hopefully, by now, most of you have already seen The Force Awakens in theaters. We have seen it 2 and 1/2 times. Where did the 1/2 come from? Well, we all loved the movie SO much that we went to see it a second time, but half way through the movie (a few minutes before that really big shocking scene, you know the one I mean) a huge thunderstorm hit and knocked the projection offline. For some reason, it takes 40 minutes to reboot the projection, so they couldn’t just pick up where it stopped.
Everyone was given refunds, but I am so thankful this was not our first time seeing it. We came back a couple of days later and watched the movie for a full second time.
Star Wars fans all over the world are beyond thrilled with the quality, acting and story line of this latest saga, AND it has won over the hearts of a new generation of fans. For fans, young and old, DK has published a couple of new books to indulge your Star Wars obsession.
Star Wars : Would You Rather?
a booklet full of fun Star Wars themed questions for kids
Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Visual Dictionary is exactly what the title infers…it is a visual dictionary, full of eye-popping photos of the characters, sets, and props.
This book is extremely detailed and contains lots of tidbits and little known facts that will help to expand your knowledge of the new Star Wars universe. Obviously, if you have seen the movie, don’t buy these books.
Here is our little BB-8 reading about himself.
We own all of the previous Star Wars Visual dictionaries and were thrilled to add this to our collection.
The second book I want to share with you is Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Incredible Cross-Sections. I do think that these types of books are my son’s favorite. Given that he has a engineering/scientific mind, he can spend hours pouring through every detail in these cross-sections. The ships and vehicles may be science fiction, but there is a ton of real science involved.
One thing that I frequently forget to point out when I review books from DK is that most of them are hardcover, which is definitely a plus when you purchase fandom related books that get handled a lot.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Visual Dictionary is $11.99 and Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Incredible Cross-Sections is $11.89 at Amazon.
You can pre-order the movie now and it will arrive at your house close to the release on April 5th.
